Makeup sprays are an essential step in my makeup routine. I use them both before and after applying my makeup, and even on my no makeup days. Check out my favorite makeup sprays below…
The Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist is my holy grail! I have used this product for a little over two years. I purchase this at Target for $20. The directions say you can use this spray before, during, or after applying your makeup. I mainly apply this as a setting spray. THIS PRODUCT IS MAJIC! It melts your makeup into the skin, makes the skin look so smooth, and actually tightens your pores. All of the sprays I mention in this post are a favorite but if I had to choose one to recommend, it would be this one hands down!
I have only used this product for about a month. The Kat Von D Lock It Setting Spray retails for $26 at Sephora. This spray has been my go to when I REALLY want my makeup to stay put for several hours. I used this when I went to Disneyland last month. After several hours of being in over 80 degree weather and walking over 5 miles, my makeup still looked great. I also used this for a concert a couple weeks ago and even after dancing my heart out, my makeup still looked great!
The original Mac Fix Plus spray is a holy grail for many makeup artist and enthusiasts. I tried the original formula years ago and it did not work for my oily skin. Mac finally released a Matte Fix Plus earlier this year. I have seen mixed reviews but I personally love it. I will say it is super important to shake the bottle very well to prevent getting white dots all over your face. This spray keeps me matte for hours! I like to use this spray when I am wearing a foundation that is not matte. This spray retails for $26 at Mac and Ulta.
The Too Faced Peach line is my all time favorite collection from the brand. This mattifying setting spray smells just like a peaches! Like the Mac Fix Plus Matte, it is very important to shake this product well or again you can ruin your makeup. This spray makes you matte but not as matte as the Fix Plus Matte. I prefer to use this spray when I am already using a matte foundation to ensure that I stay matte through the day but also don’t look too dry.
The Smashbox Primer Water is also a product that is a holy grail for many! I personally have went through a couple bottles of this product. This spray is so perfect during the drier months because it acts as both a primer and a light moisturizer. I like to spray this on my face and also on my foundation brush or beauty sponge when my skin is feeling a little dry. This product is $32 at Ulta and Sephora. I usually stock up during the 21 days of beauty sale at Ulta because it is a bit $$$.
The final spray I want to talk about is the Urban Decay B6 Priming Spray. This product is $32 at Ulta and Sephora. I bought on a fluke in March and have been obsessed with it ever since. This products claims to absorb oil, reduce redness, and minimize pores. Since I have incorporated this spray into my routine, I have noticed a huge improvement in the texture of my skin. It contains willow bark which is high in natural salicylic acid. I think that ingredient alone has helped my existing break outs shrink. I actually use this product on my no make up days as well because I love the benefits!
